How much water should I drink?

by me on May.29, 2008, under Uncategorized

Dear sweet lord!

I was reading on the interwebs somewhere that you should be drinking AT LEAST half your body weight in ounces of water. So for every 2 pounds of weight you should drink AT LEAST one ounce of water!!!

That’s a LOT of water for most people. I’m going to try to reach that requirement, but goodness. That’s quite a bit.

I’ll have to figure out how many glasses that is.

Personal Development

by me on May.28, 2008, under Life, Self Improvement

So I need to come up with some personal development goals for the next 3 months. So here is what I came up with.

  • Health and Body
    • I want to be able to wear a size 32 pant and a small/medium t-shirt comfortably. Meaning that I don’t feel like I’m all poochy in them.
    • I want to be able to run a 5k in a reasonable amount of time without stopping.
    • I want to lose about 40 pounds. This one is flexible based on the size of my pants.
    • I want to be able to do 3 sets of 30 pushups and pullups. Also, situps or crunches.
  • Confidence
    • For me this has to do with surrounding myself with positive people that validate me and my efforts. This is a little more difficult.
    • I also need to know that I am great and all that stuff. So this one will evolve over the next few months.
    • I’m not down on myself, but I need to be more confident about who I am and that there are people out there that share my views and such.
  • Relationships
    • I want a healthy relationship or relationships with more friends and people that will encourage and empower me.
    • That means, no buying people things, taking care of myself first, surrounding myself with positive and dependable people.
    • Not being codependent. I’m not usually this way, so I don’t think that will be a huge issue.

I think those are reasonable goals. I’ll keep them updated weekly.

Black Bean Hummus

by me on May.27, 2008, under Recipes

Went on a white water rafting trip and the guides had made this for us. This is my interpretation.

  • 1 16oz Can Black Beans, drained
  • 1/2 16oz can Chick Peas, drained
  • 5-10 Kalamata, Green, or Greak Olives, to taste
  • Salt, to taste, the olives have a lot of sodium usually
  • 1-2 tbsp of Tahini, to taste
  • 1 clove Garlic

There are two ways of doing thing one.

  1. Food Processor: this will produce a less smooth hummus.
    1. Process the garlic in the food processor until minced.
    2. Add the beans, process until a paste.
    3. Add tahini, process until blended
    4. Add Olives, process until blended
    5. Add chick peas and blend until thickened.
  2. Blender: makes for a very smooth hummus
    1. Place all ingredients, except Chick Peas into blender, blend until smooth.
    2. If the hummus is still soupy, add chick peas and blend until thickened.

Cross Site Scripting Prevention

by me on May.27, 2008, under Uncategorized

I think it would be pretty easy to remove the privileged access or trust from cross site scripting. Just put a trust level on each link on a page before a user clicks on that link. It will take a lot of rethinking they way we link together our pages and create these networks of links.
