Meaningless Fashion
by me on May.14, 2008, under Fashion
Ok, I do like to look well put together, but I’m just not into fashion. My idea of dressed up to go out to like a club or something is jeans and a button down shirt. But I always wear jeans and a button down shirt. To work I wear slacks and a button down. Business casual as it were.
I am pretty consistent with my wardrobe. If I am just doing whatever, it’s shorts t-shirt and flip flops.
Since I’m going to the gym all the time now, I’m hoping once I get my waist size down I’ll be able to get a little bit more fashionable.
But honestly, I just don’t understand spending more than 30 bucks on jeans or whatnot. I’ve done it, but rarely and it was for a special occasion.
The clothes does NOT make the person. Of course you should look clean and groomed, but I don’t care if you have a $1500 dollar suit on or a $150 suit on. It’s all name brand bullshit.
Oh well, I guess that’s my rant for the day. haha
I do like to look clean and groomed, but just do it on the cheap. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

I think that more expensive clothes are made better. Like, any time I own something from Old Navy is starts to look awful with strings coming off, etc. in such a short amount of time. I love fashion and since losing my weight, I am excited to get back into it. I think you dress cute and nice. Maybe try a pair of capri’s (longer length) and a polo. It’s tough being a guy, I’m so glad I am a girl - fashion is so much more fun and endless!

Thanks for the post Julie!
But when it comes right down to it. I’ll go to Plato’s Closet (this second hand store) if I want something “trendy” I just can’t imagine spending a ridiculous amount of money on the clothes I wear. It’s just something to cover up my body. For me it’s all about the money. I can’t justify the purchase in my head, so I don’t do it.
