Discovering Myself

Ok, I’m not the type that gets upset that easily, it took almost a year for this to bother me.  More and more lately I’ve been bored and lonely.  I sit at home while my boyfriend is off doing god only knows what with god only knows who and I’m stuck at home because I don’t like bars and I’m a bit shy when it comes to meeting new people.

So, taking this into consideration.  I decided, what the hell, someone messages me on a social network that we had some things in common and that we should hang out.  I’ll tell you this, it’s a little odd, but I finally got to the point where I was like, it’s in my control to do this.  So last Thursday night I decided, what the fuck and said, sure let’s hang out and do something.

His boyfriend was at a movie night and he wasn’t into all that, and my boyfriend was working and I was basically bored.  So I went over there after running the errands that my boyfriend wanted me to run, which was pick up some greens for him and his friend to have a juicing party with.  That is definitely not my thing.  Those green juices are sooooo gross.  I don’t mind the fruit juices though.

So I did my chores for my bf and then headed over to what I hope is going to be my new friend’s house.  Him and his partner have a nice townhouse not too far from where me and my boyfriend live.  So I get there and it’s about 8:30 and I need to be home for 10pm ish because that’s when the juicing party begins.  So we shake hands and say hi and he invites me to watch him finish his game of Zelda.  Which is fine for me… I don’t mind watching people play video games.  He finished beating some boss guy and then we go into their awesome play room, with HD projector and xbox 360.  We play this game where you have to bounce off walls and get little yellow things for time and then open the exit and get out of the level to win.  It was pretty fun, but we played that then I had to go.

So I hope this is the start of a good friendship.  I want to meet his partner, they are both computer geeks so it will be nice to have some tech friends.  I’ve never really had any friends that knew as much or more about computers as I did.

Another thing, I didn’t tell my boyfriend about meeting my new friends.  So it came out last night, it’s a purely innocent thing, but I didn’t want to involve him for some reason.  I wanted my own friends, and he told me I should get them.  I definitely want to do stuff together with them and us, so I hope Stephen meshes well with them.

Anyway, I love Stephen and would never cheat on him, so I don’t want him to worry about any of that stuff.  These new folks just seem fun, so I want to see where it goes with meeting new friends.

Anyway, I decided to write this because, once again I’m home alone.  I was invited to meet one of Stephen’s friends, but I don’t want to be involved with drugs or alcohol, which I’m sure will be going on.  I don’t think he has any friends that aren’t crack fiends.  Sometimes I just want to shake some sense into him.

Haha, this is so appropriate at this point.  I’m WORKING ON IT LIFE!!! So there.

Well, I don’t really have too much to say right now.  I have a friend sitting on the couch waiting for me to finish so we can grab lunch.  It’s quite a late lunch, but I got all caught up in making this website.

I’m a 26 year old Computer Security Expert.  My area of expertise ranges from common network security anomaly detection to in-depth application security architecture design.

I am in a relationship with my boyfriend of over a year Stephen.  He’s great most of the time, other times I want to strangle him.  I guess that’s what relationships are all about.

I’m doing fine in my business life, but my social and private life need some work, so I thought I’d make this blog and kind of discover who I am and what exactly I like and go from there.

First off, I am a pretty quiet person most of the time.  I can talk a lot, but I have to find the topic interesting.  I’m not one to jabber on about inane stuff.  I like intellectual conversation about anything.  I’m an analyzer I guess.

I love strategy games.  My favorite right now are these tower defense games, you have to put towers up to shoot things as they scroll across the screen before they reach the other side.  It’s interesting.  I like Sudoku as well.  I could do those for hours.

I’m an avid reader.  I read mostly science fiction and fantasy.  I can get the rest from real life.  I’m currently reading this book called Hero.  I recommend it.  It’s a bit shorter than most of the books I read, but so far I’m not disappointed.

I’m reading about 4 other books concurrently, but Hero I’ve fixated on for now.

I love movies, I could watch a new movie every night.  I don’t have cable, so I basically do watch a new movie every night.

My boyfriend likes to go out far more than I do, so I guess it balances out.  I’m more of a homebody than he is.

I like video games but don’t get to play them too much.  Hopefully when I buy a house I can setup a theatre or something.

I work for a great company and I’m out at work.  I don’t have a gay pride flag, but I don’t hide the fact.  My coworker is also gay.  She’s been with her girlfriend for about 2 years.

I also, love to cook, I don’t do that enough.  I just get tired when I get home from work.  I’ll work on that.

I just signed up for a years work of personal training, it cost me way too much.  Other than the price, we’ll see how it works out.

Ok, I need to hop in the shower before my friend kills me.  I’m not sure where we should go, she wants to sit outside since it’s nice weather.  Fine with me.
